Around St. George Utah

Back-country Camping

Camping in the St. George Utah area is as good as it gets. Elevations in the area range from 2,000 feet to over 10,000 feet and this allows options for various types of camping experiences.

The St. George Utah area offers camping in sandstone, desert, forests, canyons, or high mountains.

Be careful of your location during a rainstorm. The St. George area does not absorb water as quickly as in other areas, and flash-floods are something to be aware of.




Roasting Marshmallows
There's nothing like building a fire and roasting some marshmallows or just enjoying the evening ambience.

Fire Dangers: When building fires in the St. George Utah area, be sure of the current fire status. Fires may be prohibited at certain times of the year.
Mountain Camping


Pine Valley Mountain, Kolob Terrace and other areas offer excellent mountain camping experiences near St. George.

Group Camping

Pine Valley Mountain has two campground areas for camping in the St. George Utah area.

Snow Canyon State Park Campground

This is a very popular place for camping year-round but is most used in the spring and fall because of the pleasant day-time and night-time temperatures.
